A common question that I encounter is whether or not TAC-TOTE products will adhere themselves to body armor. The short answer is, maybe. This would all depend on a variety of things namely whether or not you are wearing steel body armor and if so, how thick and what is covering it. That being said, I am very very very much, against this practice. Tac-Tote products are very specifically designed to adhere to steel surfaces inside vehicles, onto a ships infrastructure, or to be incorporated into a defensive strategy at a facility like a Nuclear Power Plant.
Just because you can attach something magnetically to your body doesn’t make it a great idea in practice. As a tactical responder, the last thing that I would want is to have critical items magnetically attached to you when you are actually performing your job in a real world scenario. If you want to slap a magnet inside your gear so that you can stick a steel cuff key to it to be readily available that’s one thing. But to place a weapon, it’s ammunition, or any other item with a liability or life dependency on it is not the way to go.
You do not want to be that person who has to answer for gear getting lost or even worse, landing in the wrong persons hands.
